Quarter Finals day at the Allam British Open 2015:

Double delight for Malaysia as men’s top seeds go through

It was quarter-final of the Men’s and Women’s championships on a dramatic day at the Airco Arena. There was heavy English, French and Egyptian interest, but the story of the day was Malaysia getting two women’s semi-finalists for the first time ever!

Top seed and defending champion Nicol David is joined by qualifier Delia Arnold, who beat second seed Raneem El Welily in a dramatic five-setter. She’ll face France’s Camille Serme, who beat Nour El Shebini, in another emotional five game climax, while David will face home favourite Laura Massaro in a repeat of the 2013 and 2014 finals.

The men’s semi-finals will be contested by the top four seeds, who all won without the need for five games, with Mohamed Elshorbagy, Nick Matthew, Gregory Gaultier and Miguel Rodriguez set for an enticing pair of semi-finals
